A Rodeo Film


Averill Hunter, a black bull rider living in rural California, is at the top of his game. Averill however, has a few secrets; he’s fallen out of love with the sport and is carrying on a love affair with his brother’s wife, Frankie. He’s living a lie in more way than one. His brother, once a great bullrider himself expects Averill to compete and win as the family has always done. When Averill loses his cross, a family heirloom he takes it as a sign, maybe now is the time for a change.

Director’s Biography

Darius Dawson is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles. After undergrad at North Carolina State University, he went on to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts based in Singapore for graduate film production with a concentration in cinematography. His projects have screened in several international festivals across the globe. After working several years in advertising Darius has returned to school at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles to focus on directing.
